Exceptional vineyard in Corsica

Description of your stay

We propose this short stay in Sartene, Corsica, in the heart of an exceptional vineyard. You will be able to talk with the wine growers and learn more about their grape variety and their nectar.

You can also take advantage of this stay to discover the old town and its buildings dating from the Middle Ages, to discover or rediscover the local gastronomy or visit the surrounding beaches.

But at the heart of the domain that will welcome you during your stay, you will be immersed in a building entirely renovated in 2007 and which is in the pure tradition of old Corsican houses. In the 19th century, it housed the wine storehouse and the cellar master’s house and has been transformed into a family home with lime walls.

This house is made of volumes, of character and has kept all its charm of yesteryear. This is where we propose our first idea for a stay with friends, wine lovers.

The vineyard, the main activity of the estate, is located on the slopes on the right bank of the Ortolo river at an altitude of 100 to 150 metres. A south-east orientation and a north/south plantation allow an exceptional sunshine. The micro-climate of the valley, characterised by low rainfall and a wide temperature range between day and night, makes this terroir ideal for the production of exceptional wines. The soil that nourishes each vine is made up of silts and sands: it is divided into several terroirs: alluvium, colluvium and degradations of the granitic arena.

The identity associated with a demand for quality are the spearheads of the estate. Thus, the 16 hectares of the estate are planted with Corsican and southern grape varieties: vermentinu, sciacarellu, niellucciu, grenache, and minustellu with a cordon de Royat pruning for the whole vineyard and are subject to the specifications of the AOP Corse Sartène and to those of organic farming.
