Nice Airport’s Terminal 2 is getting a major upgrade—designed to bring more comfort, innovation, and sustainability to your travel experience.
To better welcome travelers in optimal conditions of comfort, safety, and efficiency, Terminal 2 at Nice Airport is entering a new phase. This ambitious project stems from a clear observation: the theoretical capacity of both terminals (14 million passengers per year) was exceeded as early as 2019, impacting service quality.
In response to steadily growing traffic, a decision was made to expand Terminal 2 to accommodate up to 18 million passengers annually—without compromising the travel experience. Launched in summer 2023, the project is firmly rooted in strong environmental commitments: no land artificialization, full preservation of the Natura 2000 zone at the mouth of the Var River, and ongoing oversight by a dedicated ecologist and environmental engineer.
In practical terms, the expansion includes 25,211 m² of additional floor space, a new concourse with 6 boarding gates, 6 pre-boarding lounges, 36 check-in counters, and a state-of-the-art baggage handling system.
